The WBSC published the update after the inaugural WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup. The ranking rates 38 Men's Softball programmes.

Eight of the top 10 teams remain unchanged with Puerto Rico and Canada swapping places in fourth and fifth respectively. China, up two positions to No. 11, had the best improvement in the top 20. The WBSC ranked 63 women's softball programmes, unchanged from end of 2022.

The WBSC Men's Baseball World Rankings includes all results from the past four years across WBSC sanctioned tournaments from U-12 Baseball World Cup to the Premier12 and World Baseball Classic as well as continental tournaments and friendlies with the top 12 nations qualifying for the next edition of the WBSC Premier12.

For the first time in history Argentina close the year as World No. 1 in the men’s chart; while USA remain as the top-ranked nation in the world in the women’s ranking.

World No. 2 Chinese Taipei and No. 3 USA complete the podium. The end-of-the-year rankings reflect the addition of points gathered in 2022 as well as the expiration of all points earned in 2018.

The WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings continue to feature nations from the five Olympic continents in the top 12 positions, showing the sport’s global development.

Korea sits third, while Mexico has risen to its highest-ever ranking at No. 4 in the world, surpassing No. 5 USA.

In a historic milestone for WBSC, four continents are represented in the top four spots of the Men’s Softball World Rankings.

The Tokyo 2020 gold medalists are now the top-ranked nation in the world. There is a total of 67 national federations included in the rankings. Cuba and Indonesia made the biggest moves up the softball rankings, jumping 10 places to No. 18 and No. 25, respectively.
